This recessed specimen pass - through box comes with an extension sleeve and flange. The cabinet and door are made of 18 - gauge type 304 stainless steel with a satin finish, while the flange is 22 - gauge type 304 stainless steel. It features a heavy - duty stainless - steel multi - staked 3/16' diameter [Ø5] piano hinge. It offers a convenient way to transfer specimens from the patient area to the laboratory. You deposit specimens through one side, and they can be retrieved on the other side once the first door is closed. The removable stainless - steel drip tray makes cleaning a breeze. It also has an internal latch to prevent both doors from opening at the same time. It's similar to Model No. 8154 but includes Model No. 8155, which would otherwise be sold separately.

Using this specimen pass - through box is easy. When you need to transfer specimens from the patient area to the laboratory, simply open the door on the patient side and place the specimens inside. Then close that door. Once it's closed, you can open the door on the laboratory side to retrieve the specimens. Make sure to keep the internal latch in good condition to prevent both doors from opening at once, which could disrupt the transfer process. For maintenance, regularly remove the stainless - steel drip tray and clean it to keep the box hygienic. Also, check the piano hinge for any signs of wear and tear and lubricate it if necessary. Avoid using harsh chemicals on the stainless - steel surfaces as they may damage the satin finish.
